Visiting wrestler Simone joins us in the NYC Doom Studio for the very first time, where she jumps in for a pair of competitive wrestling matches. This is her first match of the day, where she faces off against young, light-weight male wrestler El Nino in a competitive mixed submission wrestling bout.
Simone is a visitor from Georgia, and she is a newcomer to the underground wrestling scene. But she is not a newcomer to wrestling! In fact, she is an MMA fighter with 6 years of grappling experience and a background in judo and kickboxing. El Nino, on the other hand, is a local wrestler who has been training for 4 months. He's a novice at wrestling, but he's athletic and energetic.
Simone puts a good bit of her stand-up wrestling to use in this match, as both competitors return to their feet after submissions. Takedowns, judo, and clinch work. Locking up against the matted wall and pummeling for control. On the ground, Simone works her pinning pressure, creating openings for attacks, forcing El Nino to struggle and make mistakes. El Nino has been learning well at wrestling practice, and he fights his hardest, but Simone presents him with many physical challenges that he just cannot solve. Arm locks, trips, throws, neck attacks. It's an athletic and hard-fought bout, but Simone has clear dominance in this battle.
